A week ago I looked in the mirror, and to my demise, I realized my brown eyes were cloaked by my bushy wizard eyebrows. I drove myself in a hurry to the closest waxing salon and asked the girl to make me feel like a woman again and to wax my eyebrows really thin. When she was finished, she put up a mirror to my face and asked if I liked them but all I could focus on was her lack of eyebrows; where her eyebrows should’ve been, there was just skin and no trace of hair growth before that. As I walked out and paid for my waxing, I noticed the other lady had no natural eyebrow hair, and instead opted for professional eyebrow microblading.
I went home thinking about how there can be such extremes when it comes to eyebrows. Some people like to shape their thick brows for a more natural look, some like to wax them thin, some like to wax them off and draw them with pencil or microblade, and some people cannot even grow eyebrows and choose to go natural. How to wear your eyebrow is your personal preference but I have noticed the rapid increase of eyebrow microblading classes. All the salons that I have gone to over the last two years have advertised eyebrow microblading and tinting, and programs that teach students about microblading have been sprouting because the demand for a good brow has increased quickly. This kind of professional training can teach aestheticians the importance of a good brow to increase face symmetry and to bring out the best angles for the client’s face. Further training includes colour theory and colour mixing, client consultation and assessment and pre and post treatment. Students also have the chance to practice on real life models, perfecting the art of microblading. Eyebrow microblading has never been an important area that I indulged in because I had caveman eyebrows since birth, but I can appreciate those who cannot grow hair and educate themselves on the subject of eyebrow microblading training.

In an odd way, I take my overly bushy eyebrow hair for granted; I can simply wax or pluck them into the shape I want. For some people, growing eyebrow hair is extremely difficult and eyebrow microblading is the best option for a natural looking brow. A beautiful brow can change your outlook on yourself, and it can really elevate your attitude when it is done properly. It can shape your face and your confidence, and highlight your best features.
